POSTCARD: Air Mail
ALSO AVAILABLE AS POSTER AND MAGNET.
A PART OF OUR EXCLUSIVE 'SPIRIT OF BRITAIN' RANGE.
Issued in 1933, when official air mail services began between London and Calcutta, this GPO-commissioned design was the work of top commercial artist Frank Newbould. Depicting the underside of a monoplane against a blue and black sky, it gives the brilliant effect of being directly underneath.
All Memory Lane postcards are standard A6 postcard size (105 x 148mm) and have a gloss finish.
