SET OF 3 MAGNETS: Keep Them Flying!
ALSO AVAILABLE AS POSTCARDS AND POSTERS.
A PART OF OUR EXCLUSIVE 'SPIRIT OF BRITAIN' RANGE.
Issued in 1933, when official air mail services began between London and Calcutta, this GPO-commissioned design was the work of top commercial artist Frank Newbould. Depicting the underside of a monoplane against a blue and black sky, it gives the brilliant effect of being directly underneath.
⦁ KEEP THEM BOTH FLYING!
A stirring design of Canadian origin underlining the commitment of the Dominion of Canada to defending the British Empire and keeping the Royal Air Force flying.
⦁ BUY BRITISH
When the future King Edward VIII called on the people of Britain to ‘buy British’ in a 1931 broadcast, he inspired artist R. Granger Barrett to create this magnificent art deco design. To underline British achievement, he depicts the record-breaking Schneider Trophy Seaplane, Miss England powerboat, Bluebird and The Flying Scotsman.
